A digital archive of vintage postcards: a trip down memory lane
Vintage postcards are one of the best ways to become acquainted with earlier (and mostly now lost) appearances of our cities, our squares, and our communities.
With this project, the Museum of the City and the Territory offers a cultural, even before a temporal, tour directed at highlighting the collective perception of innovation in the relationship between places and towns, towns and cities, and individuals and places, related largely to the emerging middle classes.
Fully searchable online, the digital archives contain about 2,500 postcards relating to the Valdinievole and other places in the Pistoia area.
